Four intermediate classes at Spring Creek Elementary School in Whistler participated in Zero Waste Workshops last week. Ms Hennesey, Mme Millen, Ms Rutishauser and
Mr Day's classes all learned about Zero Waste, Healthy Food and a
Healthy Environment. Students talked about local versus imported food,
organic versus non organic food, and packaging as they relate to Zero
Waste. Students discussed some great ideas about how to reduce the
amount of garbage they produce and brainstormed ways to teach others about Zero Waste. These classes have agreed to try the Garbage Free Lunch Challenge, where they will make every effort to create little to no lunchtime waste. Keep up the Zero Waste efforts Spring Creek Elementary School!
